Trusting God for our Healing
It is clear we have been blessed with ingenuity and industry. God has graced us with wonderful resources and we know how to use them. Yet, it is also evident that we cannot fix our world. Even with all our tools we still “don’t know what tomorrow holds.” And in those rare times we do; we are more often stumped than not in our efforts of repair. We remain broken and needy in our lives, in our nation, and in our world.
God has promised a “kingdom come” that will one day make all things right. There will be no more sickness nor sorrow. “Swords will be turned into ploughshares,” and we “shall study war no more.” In the meantime we use the resources God has given us—and we wait.
Christians believe these resources are given to us by our spiritual union with Jesus Christ by faith. The Holy Scriptures teach us that in Christ “everything for life and godliness” has been provided. We have a living hope; our bodily resurrection and life everlasting with Jesus and all the saints who have gone on before us. We use the resources God has given us now. And we wait with faith, patience, and contentment for God’s coming Kingdom.
One of God’s precious resources is prayer. God answers the prayer of faith for healing. We pray for our daily needs while “delighting in God’s will and walking in God’s way to the glory of His name.”
